Genevieve asked, “James, are you a big boy?”James answered in a silly you sort of way, “ No, I’n a baby.I’n Baby James.I wike my babaan mybinkie.”
Also, today when James woke up from his nap, I went in to get him and it was apparent that he had stripped down completely and slept in the buff. Luckily, he didn’t pee on anything this time.Funny guy.
James has been having some kind of issue with his diaper being uncomfortable on his boy parts lately and whenever he is getting his diaper changed, he squirms around and says, “My pee pee’souchie Mommy.”We’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on with that but everything looks okay, so we haven’t been too worried about it.Then, yesterday we all went and got flu shots. Everyone got them in the arm except James who got his in the leg. When we got home, I took James in his room to change his diaper and he said, “My pee pee’s not ouchie anymore. My weg’souchie.”This has continued for every diaper change today, too.
One more quick story from this week:Yesterday, after we took Mike some lunch, Mike was saying bye to James and James said, “Bye Dad.Be good.”We had a good laugh and realized that we’re always saying that to James.
James has taken to yelling at everyone as his main form of communication this week and concentrates most of the yelling at Genevieve. So, anyway, I decided to take Genevieve and James to McDonald’s for lunch on Thursday, mostly as a reward for Genevieve because she was really brave getting eye drops at the eye doctor. So, James and I went to pick up Genevieve at school and as soon as she got in the car he yelled, “I’ngi’infre fries Ge’vieve!”You would have thought Genevieve had wronged him in some way or told him that he was not getting french fries the way he told her off. Another favorite angry phrase is, “I’ndoin’ a puzzle Mama!”Basically, he’s been randomly yelling at everyone about nothing in particular.
James was calling me this afternoon when he woke up from his nap and when I opened the door he said, “I take my pants off and go pee pee.”Sure enough, he had taken his pants and diaper off and had peed on his bed.I asked him if he was ready to go pee pee on the potty and he said no.So, I told him he has to keep his diaper on to pee and he said, “Okay, mommy.”What a guy.
Ummm . . . I’m trying to think of something funny James did this week.Oh, he did put on Analise’s old cleats and her pink and black baseball mitt. Then he got out a basketball and kicked it around the house while carrying a baseball in the mitt. He’s inventing his own crossover sport, I think.
Well, this all started when my youngest brother, Nate, left us in September 2008 to serve a church mission in Brazil for two years. He and my boy, James, are pretty tight, so I started including the James Funny Story of the Week (JFSW for short) in my weekly emails to him. Realizing that there are lots of other people who find my James amusing, I decided to start a blog dedicated to only him. Now, that Nate is back, I have a new blog to record all the funny things all of my children say and do. Check it out: www.welcometonylandia.blogspot.com
